Why Firefox more than 220 MB of RAM for me?
Screenshot: http://www.andrewhainen.com/documents/firefoxramusage.png (I on a MacBook Pro 2008 2.5 GHz Intel Core Duo RAM w/4GB Snow Leopard 10.6.5, my version of Firefox 3.6.12), I had Firefox open all day, these addons: • 1-Click YouTube Video Downloader 1.5 1Password • • • • Status Bar Download PhotoZoom Facebook Firebug Firefox PDF Plugin for Mac OS X • • • StumbleUpon readitlater I tried changing the browser before, but there is too much to use Firefox and I love the feel of it. And, as a web designer, Firebug is my best friend. Chrome, Safari, Opera and the use of only 40 MB, 60 MB maximum, is there any way to get Firefox to use less?
Please wait … using various accessories … and FF has been open all day, and ask yourself why you are using a mere 220 MB of RAM? Let's put this in perspective … has 4 GB … if 200 MB = 0.2 GB which is 5% of the RAM. Therefore, Firefox uses a little more than 5% of the RAM. This is not particularly alarming. To use less, about some of the tabs (I bet he has a group) and remove some of these shit-ins.
