10 Points for Hacking!?
Hello. I know how to hack facebook and I want to show it to people through my site. However, I am concerned with the legal issues. I only want to show people for educational purposes. Does anyone know if there are any legal problems with sharing information on how to hack and telling people how?

Hacking USED to be a term of honor. NOW it is just another word for thief, crook, or criminal. When REAL programmers using assembly language improved some one else’s code it referred to as a good hack as opposed to a hack job… Your problem here is NOT that you are hacking, but WHAT you are hacking that makes this illegal activity. By hacking accounts, you are in effect stealing intellectual material, which is copyright infringement. Al Capone was NOT convicted of a crime he committed but for evading taxes on the profit he made from his illegal activities. The same type of thing applies here because reverse engineering by itself is NOT a crime. There is no loophole anymore of the “educational purpose”. You will be prosecuted for intellectual theft, copyright infringement, invasion of privacy and a score of other related charges mostly having to do with theft and copyrights. They WILL find you eventually. You left a trail that can not be erased. The servers have records and sites like facebook, NEVER throw out ANY records. Their records prove they are innocent of any crimes YOU committed that they could be blamed for. Of COURSE they keep the records! All they need do now that they know YOU are admitting to doing the hacking of their site, is look over their server records to find the trail you left behind, which will lead them to your IP address, which will lead them directly to your ISP, who will give you up in a heartbeat to avoid prosecution as an accomplice to your illegal activities. The only thing that is stopping them from going after you NOW is it is likely they have not yet searched their records to find your trail and even then, they have to devote manpower to the task. If you go public or otherwise reveal ANY information obtained through your illegal activities, they will have a new incentive to devote the resources in your direction to stop you and put you in jail. One last thing, I have taken the liberty of copying the link to this question and forwarding the contents to a facebook support address I have. I think they will find this a very interesting tidbit of information. I would not be surprised to find they are going to devote some manpower to your case in the near future… You have admitted in a public forum that you have committed a crime, and you did this without being coerced, in that you volunteered the confession without any question being asked of you. The 5th amendment does NOT protect you when you shout things from the rooftops in the direction of anyone who would listen! You are right to be concerned about the legal ramifications… I suggest you locate a good criminal defense attorney and give him/her a retainer NOW… and not be surprised when they come knocking on your door… You do not deserve to called a hacker because you are just another wannabe. You DO realize that many criminals are really too stupid to keep their big mouth shut which is why they get caught, right? I would say that boasting, as you do here, would be a really stupid thing to do, wouldn’t you agree?
Edit: One last thing… Yahoo is NOT anonymous. You created this account on the 21st and in their records, this account is tied to the REAL IP address of YOUR computer, even if you went through a proxy. Yahoo can track YOU and it is likely they will if asked by facebook. You have clouded your path, but the tracks are still there for the server operators to FIND and your boasting here just fuels the fire. You have given them REASON to look for you.
It occurs to me you are lying about this ability you make claim to, hacking facebook. Too bad for you. Admitting to a crime is good enough for prosecution. It will NOT stop them from looking for and finding YOU, the real you behind the smokescreen you put up. You made a fatal error, a stupid error that all the dumb criminals that get caught make. You put up your smokescreen AFTER you made the tracks which lead back to you.
