In recent months there have been many debates and discussions about current politics of social networking sites MySpace and Facebook, so that images of mothers breastfeeding your child is removed from the pages of the users in the context that violates the Terms of Service cons of listing sites "porn" or the content "obscene". However, there is another conclusion, long-term issue that this debate has been highlighted in these types of websites and it is how we define the balance between how end users of a social networking site to communicate and share the rights and responsibilities of owners / managers of these sites online community. As is well understood why people are users / members of these social networking websites, I will begin by examining the situation from the perspective of companies / organizations with these Web 2.0 companies.
For starters, there is no doubt that owners / managers of these sites online community, decide not only the content that is to be shared on your site, but also the type of users will be granted access. These guidelines or standards, often described by these Terms of Service Agreement are intended to serve as a filter to help the site owner to build an online community that hope to attract and encourage their field. However, if such rules or regulations are intended to define the nature and composition of the membership site, the ultimate goal of social networking sites is as accessible and attractive to many users as possible, thereby encouraging users of its heterogeneity site of interaction and communication.
Now, there is no doubt that both Facebook and MySpace are not considered as sites for specialist or social networking sites that cater exclusively to people who share a common culture or values or standards of structure belief. And yet, reading many of the statements made by Facebook and MySpace in their policies to remove all images of mothers who breastfeed their babies from their respective sites, it becomes evident that there is, indeed, cultural norms are used to determine what types of interaction and exchange will be permitted in these sites, the rules are not only synchronized with most of the world, but those who are not aligned with most state / provincial laws and federal public breastfeeding. As such, it becomes a little harder to see these two social networking sites unless you turn the northward segment of society American would agree that women can show parts of the chest to the excitement, not because they provide support for his son.
In the "world real social interaction between people is affected by culture / social norms of society that are part and as such "real world" interactions are often limited by geographical proximity, there is a strong likelihood that both parties have a large number of these standards and common values. With the creation Internet, however, people can now interact with others over long distances and cultural differences and social groups that usually manifests itself in the "real world" are less obvious. However, this does not mean that these differences do not exist or they do not reflect the way people communicate over the Internet. Despite This divergence in cultural social norms may have been less evident a few years ago, when these social networking sites still emerging "technology", given the greater sense of comfort and ease of end users on these sites, it is likely that the debate on the advantages of breastfeeding pictures on websites Social networking is just the tip of the iceberg.
Well Facebook and MySpace have been successful to date in creating a membership, different dynamics, the fact that these sites consider something to be "offensive" that most world cultures and societies see as perfectly natural indicates the need for re-assessment of how its sites function. Perhaps instead of a generic site, the regional geographic should be created that relate and better reflect the rules and cultural norms of people in various parts of the world, so that members of these online communities will not be subjected to what the exchange of information and ideas are regulated on the basis of a specific area of social and cultural norms. For now, MySpace is currently testing over 20 different countries to certain beta versions of its site, but may be the result of losing out to Facebook in 2008 from the international users of these social networking sites, a recognition that a broader understanding of moral and social values of those sites need to be relevant outside their natural geographic base.
Regardless, the debate about how to remove the photos of breastfeeding mothers of these two social networking sites has highlighted the fact that such sites are online communities adapting to new measures to ensure that not only maintain its global Internet presence, but still relevant to many visitors who do not limit their interpretation culturally acceptable behavior close as it does now.
