Unable to connect to Facebook, to enter an email address and password, and that brings me back to the home screen?

I I can access my facebook account on the iPhone, so I know my password is correct, but when I try to access Facebook on my Mac (enter email address address and correct password) and click "Login", just brings me back to the sign on the screen. Does anyone know what is going on?

Yes, nothing important, are being held in facilities maintenance to take a couple of hours, apparently. Hope that helps, Paul
