facebook rich text

Here are some of the latest and most popular Internet Marketing techniques I’m seeing for today’s ever growing Internet Marketing scene:
1. Social Networks – Facebook, MySpace, Yuwie, etc.
2. Micro Blogging – Twitter, Jaiku, Tumblr
3. Social Bookmarking – Delicious, StumbleUpon, Digg, Reddit, etc.
4. Article Marketing – Submitting to Article Directories, including EzineArticles, GoArticles, Article Rich, etc.
5. Videos – YouTube, MySpace
6. Pay Per Click Advertising – Google Adwords, Bidvertiser, TextAds, etc.
7. SEO – Page Ranking, Backlinks and so on.
8. Web 2.0 – More interactive websites which includes other forms of communication besides typed words – i.e videos, social widgets, social networking, etc.
9. Niche Marketing – Targetting specific demographics instead of mainstream
10. Contextual Ads – Inline text ads throughout web content
11. Membership Sites – Lots of Free Ones around with endless sales pages when you log in.
12. PLR Content – Articles anyone can edit and use however they like whether to include in their websites, blog or submit in article sites.
13. Google – It’s become such a household name, hardly anyone ever says “I’ll look it up on the search engines”… No, we’d say “I’ll Google it”.
Here are some old school Internet Marketing I know of – some are still being used and may even be effective but some are useless now as far as I know:
1. Safelists and Email Blasters – Advertising to thousands of emails at once – may or may not be opt-in.
2. Opt-In Lists – Still being applied only now there are more benefits for the subscribers like a lot of Free Info Products (which are mostly outdated but repackaged well enough to make it look new).
3. Made for Adsense Websites – Trashy content rich, made for Adsense websites which are still being sold around the web.
4. Classified Ads – Craigslist is doing well but there are a lot around that aren’t as effective and probably never was.
5. FFA – Free For All Link Sites. I remember everyone have to have one and even better if you’re the owner of a FFA network.
6. Viral Ebooks – Still around and still effective in a way.
7. Search Engine Blasters – Blast to thousands of Search Engines that hardly anyone went to.
8. SEO – meta tags, black hat, white hat, top hat… actually, not sure about top hat
9. Yahoo! – Who would have thought Yahoo! would be overtaken, not by AltaVista either. Yahoo is still popular but I remember when Marketers focused on getting on the #1 page of Yahoo instead of Google.
10. Newsletter Ads – Buying spaces in newsletters was very popular, I remember… maybe it still is. Not sure as I don’t subscribe to them as much as I did then.
11. Banner Ads – Swapping banner ads, etc. Then it was discovered people responded more to text ads.
12. Affiliate Programs – still is the way to free advertising for product and service owners.
13. Traffic Exchanges – It’s still around and still growing.
14. Traffic Bars – There’s still some around like InstantBuzz but it’s more like a traffic exchange than getting paid to surf.
Today’s Internet Marketing methods are getting more into the Social side of things whereas years ago, people can just remain anonymous or more private. Now, people are more inclined to expose themselves and even tell us what they just had for breakfast via Twitter or talk themselves up on videos. I guess you can still have a certain anonimity by hiding behind a persona like Mr. X or the Rich Jerk or even pretend people who claim that some Get Rich program made them wealthy beyond belief. Either way, it will be interesting to see how Internet Marketing evolves a few years from now.
