Why is my Facebook wall does not show recent messages, even after changing the privacy settings to "all"?

I joined the facebook privacy settings and changed everything to everyone, everyone should now be able to see everything, including updates on my wall, but when I click on the padlock symbol next to items that did not show it is even saying that "friends" – how I can work around this problem .. please help!
