The implications of social networking with Facebook
Everyone is going ga-ga over Facebook and Twitter these days. MySpace has become one of those freaks of which usually last two or three years. It is reinventing itself. Have you ever wondered what happens to social networking sites such as older age Friendster, Bebo, Hi5, Orkut, etc? You may have created an account at one of these sites back many months. The truth is that with the exception of Twitter and Facebook traffic in most of other social networking sites is going downhill. Facebook is now the number two in the ranking of Alexa Internet. MySpace has slipped in the top five. The others have fallen a lot too.
Yahoo has announced that Facebook Connect through the front door of Yahoo in the coming months. Now, Yahoo is / was one of the largest social networking sites with the e-mail, chat, messaging and everything. Instead of developing a social network on Yahoo, are far from giving space to Facebook. MySpace also announced it will integrate Facebook Connect so that MySpace users can share content such as music videos on MySpace FB easily. Consider the fact that rivals MySpace and were bitter about f'book months ago. Google considering including Facebook pages and status updates on their search results, which means more organic traffic to FB. FB will continue to increase its dominant position because of these actions by the above websites. It can not be wrong and instead of helping users to maintain a Common identification FB can use on a website they want. In a sense, this is good because other sites will not be necessary to create a separate registry connection. People do not have to register at each site. But I imagine that something goes wrong in the FB. The Internet as we know it will come to a stop whereas all social networks will be implemented through Facebook. So everything has its advantages and disadvantages. What will happen in the future? Nobody knows.
