How do I invite people to an event on Facebook – people who are not on your list of friends?

I do a flash mob …. and need a lot people. I invited people on the list of my friend, but I think most of them declined because it has something to do with anime. It would be great if I could invite all to a past event (more than a month) people who went to conventions around since the people who come to have the same interests! Is it possible to invite all events of the past convention or fan page? would be even more successful!
